eProInn is part of the DAC (Campania Aerospace District). Within the district, we participate in the activities of the working group “Urban Air Mobility: Systems and Operations” (UAM-SO).
The aim of the Working Group is to define a technological “vision” aimed at introducing urban and peri-urban air transport of people and goods, in the context of Urban Air Mobility. Particular attention is paid to eVTOL (electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing), both in full electric and hybrid configuration. The global eVTOL aircraft market size was estimated at USD 1.35 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 54.9% from 2024 to 2030. The development and improvement in battery technologies are significant drivers for the eVTOL aircraft market growth.
The main motivations are:
- Use of urban and peri-urban airways for future sustainable and intermodal mobility of people/goods;
- Development of a low-emission long-range platform;
- Structuring of the management of Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
